Read JCWI's briefings regarding the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008

JCWI had a number of concerns relating to the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 and lobbyed on the Bill as it passed through Parliament.
JCWI were also particularly concerned about a proposal in the Bill for a new 'Special Immigration Status' that could be applied to 'foreign national prisoners' who are liable to be deported but cannot be removed from the UK on Human Rights Grounds
See our various briefings relating to the Act below.
