Continuing Professional Development

All of our courses are accredited by the Law Society & the Bar Council and carry Continual Professional Development (CPD) hours.

Each year JCWI trains hundreds of advisers and practitioners with varying levels of expertise, from experienced solicitors to new volunteers in community groups. Our programme ranges from half-day sessions to five-day courses. Courses are provided at a variety of levels, from basic to advanced. We also deliver in-house courses specifically tailored to our clients' requirements.

Our training is based on:

  • practical experience of undertaking casework and providing advice to more than 5,000 people per annum
  • policy work and lobbying to influence the UK's immigration, nationality and asylum laws and practices
  • our regularly updated JCWI Immigration, Nationality & Refugee Law Handbook which is the leading publication in its field. The latest 2006 edition of the Handbook is available for purchase and is accompanied by an extensive set of electronic legal updates accessible from the Electronic Immigration Network at www.ein.org.uk. The new edition of the Handbook is expected in 2009.

For all training queries call 0207 553 7468 or email training@jcwi.org.uk
