Denise has over 25 years' experience in global communications, branding, marketing, campaigning and media relations, working for a number of large INGOs. She was Head of Press and Public Relations at the British Red Cross for six years, during which she travelled as a roving press officer/spokesperson to war zones and quick-onset disasters. She designed and led the ICRC's historic landmines campaign (supported by numerous global leaders), and has worked as a campaigns and media consultant for WWF International, WWF US and WWF Russia, Help The Aged, IUCN, the DEC and Greenpeace International to name but a few.

She was the main communications and media advisor for The Climate Group from its inception, and represented what was then a relatively unknown NGO at G20 in Gleneagles – this was the first time climate change had made it to the top of the agenda. Having trained originally at global top ten agency Leo Burnett, she is strategy- and results-driven. She was a trustee of Afghanaid for five years. On top of all this, she is also a published crime writer. In her spare time she continues to write fiction, looks after her family and enjoys yoga. Find her on Twitter at @DE_Meredith.
