Covid response

Since the pandemic hit we have taken swift action to defend the health, safety and rights of migrants in the UK. Yet time and again, the government has prioritised immigration enforcement over public health.

We are urging the government to:

  • scrap the 'No Recourse to Public Funds' visa rule, which has cut migrants out of the social safety net, leaving people less able to say 'no' to dangerous working conditions or poverty wages.
  • end the hostile environment, to ensure we all have access to the essential support we need. Even in the NHS the hostile environment has not been suspended - deterring migrants from seeking treatment or accessing the covid vaccine.

Read our research below and take action today.
