Dr Jeff Crisp is a specialist on refugee, asylum and migration issues, as well as humanitarian communications. He has held senior positions with UNHCR, where he was Head of Policy Development and Evaluation, as well as Refugees International (Senior Director for Policy and Advocacy) and the Global Commission on International Migration (Director of Policy and Research). He has also worked for the Independent Commission on International Humanitarian Issues, the British Refugee Council and Coventry University, and has also worked as a freelance journalist.

Jeff has first-hand experience of refugee situations throughout the world and has published, lectured and broadcast extensively on refugee and asylum issues. He has a PhD in African Studies and Political Science from the University of Birmingham in the UK.  Jeff is currently affiliated to the Refugee Studies Centre, University of Oxford, and Chatham House in London, and is an Executive Committee member of United Against Inhumanity, an advocacy organization.  Jeff is active on social media, with around 32,000 followers on Twitter (@jfcrisp).
