Nisa qualified as a solicitor in 2016, having trained at Bhatt Murphy Solicitors, in actions against public authorities and in inquests.

Nisa is an IAAS Level 2 accredited senior caseworker. Prior to joining JCWI in September 2018, Nisa worked as an outreach solicitor at Coram Migrant Children’s Project advising destitute families, children and young people on immigration, asylum and nationality law.

Nisa is committed to assisting vulnerable individuals access justice and seek accountability. She has worked with asylum-seeking young people, victims of domestic violence, victims of trafficking. Her areas of work include asylum, fresh claims, applications under the immigration rules, trafficking claims and challenges to deportation.

Prior to her legal studies, Nisa studied Politics & International Relations and holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies. She is a native Dari/Farsi speaker and fluent in French.

Nisa volunteers as a director at the Springboard Youth Academy, a community interest company assisting young asylum-seekers and refugees.
