Sahdya Darr Sahdya is a human rights and social justice advocate. She has advocated for the rights of asylum seekers and refugees, students in UK higher education, women from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee communities and also for Palestinians' human rights. She has worked both in and on Afghanistan supporting the delivery of the National Solidarity Programme, Afghanistan's flagship national priority programme and raising public awareness across the EU of development assistance to Afghanistan on behalf of the British and Irish Agencies Afghanistan Group (BAAG). She has also worked in Israel and the West Bank monitoring and reporting on violations of human rights and international humanitarian law and participated in UN Human Rights Council sessions in Geneva. Sahdya currently works at Open Rights Group as Immigration Policy Manager where she is looking at the use and impact of technology and data sharing in the development and implementation of immigration policy and supporting migrant sector organisations to build their capacity to respond to the challenges this presents. She also volunteers as an Educational Mentor with the Refugee Support Network.
