What is the Executive Committee?

JCWI is governed by a board of trustees, known as our 'Executive Committee' or 'EC'. The EC meets at least once every three months to review JCWI's activities, finances and plans and long-term strategy. This helps ensure that we are working effectively and responsibly to achieve our objectives while delivering good value for money and long-term sustainability.

All members of JCWI are eligible to stand for election to the Executive Committee, either as individuals, or as a representative of their organisation. Individuals can also be 'co-opted' or appointed by the Executive Committee.

How to join the Executive Committee

Each year JCWI holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) of its members. This year it will take place on 26 November 2020.

All existing members of the Executive Committee are eligible to re-stand for election at the AGM.

Following this, all members are eligible to stand for election to any vacancies on the Executive Committee. To do so, members must submit a nomination in advance of the AGM - the deadline for nominations is 23:59 on 2 November 2020.

To be eligible to stand you must:

  • be an individual member of JCWI, or be the representative of an organisation which is a member of JCWI
  • have the backing of two other current members of JCWI
  • submit the nomination form by the deadline stated above.
