We are not currently taking on interns or volunteers at JCWI, but when we do they will always be listed in our vacancies and opportunities. Here are just some of the other amazing organisations looking for volunteers, interns or work experience placements: Use your legal skills If you are qualified to give immigration advice in the UK, volunteer to provide support to Ukrainians seeking safety here with the Ukraine Advice Project Provide advice and support to people in immigration detention - Bail for Immigration Detainees Support families struggling because of the No Recourse to Public Funds rule - The Unity Project Support people who are struggling because of their immigration status - Hackney Migrant Centre Support people in the asylum system - The Refugee Council Volunteer with the immigration law team at your local law centre Support survivors of trafficking and torture through the Helen Bamber Foundation Support asylum seekers as part of the legal access team at Care4Calais Use your language skills Offer interpreting and translation support with Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Centre, The Unity Project, or Safe Passage. Groundwork is looking for people with translation skills, or people willing to help out at our English Language support sessions. Use other skills and resources Join the government sponsorship scheme to support refugees from Ukraine, with Homes for Ukraine If you have a spare room you can offer, try hosting with Refugees At Home Detention Action are looking for two trustees with lived experience of the asylum system and/or immigration detention Make your community, schools, university, library and so on a place of welcome, with City of Sanctuary.
